Hydrangea
Carithers Flowers Design Favorite
When introduced to European botanists in 1788, the hydrangea was inordinately mysterious, changing hues, from pink to blue, depending on what we now know is the soil's pH level. Surprisingly, hydrangeas may demonstrate an almost unquenchable thirst; on hot days, large garden plants can drink as much as 12 gallons! Gorgeous as feature flowers in arrangements, and lasting up to 10 days, these luscious beauties continue to beautify as a potted plant or when dried.
