Veteran’s Day in Atlanta

Veteran’s Day is Friday, November 11th and is the time of year in which we recognize those veterans that have served our country well, helping to preserve our freedom through various wars and conflicts. We honor both those still living among us as well as those that have passed on. The biggest event we have in Atlanta for Veteran’s Day is the annual parade. This is the 35th year that it has been held in Atlanta with it falling on Saturday, November 12th and kickoff at 11:11am. Each year, the Atlanta Veteran’s Day parade has a theme. The Georgia Veteran’s Day Association, which is the organization behind the event, selected Honoring the USO as this year’s them. Make a Difference Day is on October 21st, and this is a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in helping those in your community. It can be volunteering on a community project that helps others, such as building a house, cleaning up an area, or assisting those in need.
