This weekend, a special day called Make a Difference Day that is dedicated to giving back to the local Atlanta community through volunteer work and charitable contributions. Make a Difference Day was created as a national event intended to promote volunteer work and community assistance across the country.
We’ve uncovered some local Atlanta Make a Difference Day events to help you get involved in Atlanta volunteer work. We are also committed to community involvement and charitable contributions, including our Helping Hands program described below.
Make a Difference Day Events in Atlanta
The Make a Difference Day organization has a page on their website dedicated to local Atlanta events for October 26th. These volunteer events include Food Drive for Atlanta Community Food Bank, the ARK Project of building homes for those in need, AmeriCorps and VOX Homecoming Volunteers.
Hands On Atlanta also has its own calendar of Make a Difference Day events with many opportunities to volunteer, including Urban Farmers and Habitat for Humanity just to name a few.
Besides these local Atlanta events, you can also do your own volunteering by helping in your neighborhood or area of Atlanta by helping neighbors in need, organizing a neighborhood clean-up effort, or providing some other assistance like doing errands or maintenance work for those that cannot do it themselves.
The Helping Hands Program Raises Money for the Local Atlanta-area Community
Another way you can help during Make a Difference Day as well as throughout the year is to participate in our Helping Hands Program, which donates part of your purchase to the Atlanta organization of your choice. All purchases can qualify for this charitable giving program that gives money to non-profit organizations, schools, and churches.
Currently, enrolled Atlanta organizations include WellStar Foundation & Hospice, United Way, American Cancer Society Atlanta Hope Lodge, Ryan Lee Holland Cancer Foundation, High Meadows School & Camp, Dreamweavers of Georgia, Kids’ Chance of Georgia, Good Mews Animal Foundation and Hightower Middle School. More Atlanta organizations can enroll through the online page so that they can also receive support from us and our customers as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen and improve the Atlanta community.
Our objective is to continually give back to the Atlanta community and its residents who have given us so much over the many decades that we have been operating flower shops throughout Atlanta.
