Carithers Flowers and Georgia Tech’s Alpha Gamma Delta Join Forces to Raise Money and Spread Some Love
Carithers Flowers is recruiting members of Georgia Tech’s Alpha Gamma Delta sorority to help with curbside delivery this Valentine’s weekend. In return, the florist is donating $2,500 to one of Alpha Gamma Delta’s favorite organizations, Meals on Wheels.
According to Carithers Flowers’ owner, Charles Carithers, Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest times of the year for florists. Due to the labor shortage, many florists are having a hard time keeping up with demand. Afraid of finding themselves in the same boat, they knew they had to come up with a creative solution. That’s when they reached out to Georgia Tech’s Alpha Gamma Delta – a sorority known for its philanthropy and volunteering for good causes.
“Fortunately, bringing in Alpha Gamma Delta with their desire to help the community and raise donations for Meals on Wheels was a winning combination. They will be assisting with our curbside delivery service, and we couldn’t be more excited to have these professional and dedicated women on our team this weekend.” — Charles Carithers
Alpha Gamma Delta is also excited to partner with the Carithers Flower Shop as all proceeds will support Meals on Wheels Atlanta. Laura Jeniski, Director of Community Engagement for the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority stated that “Running curbside service for a local business not only helps the flower shop with staffing but gives our sisters real-world experience while financially supporting Meals on Wheels Atlanta! I can’t think of a better combination.”
The magic takes place this Valentine’s Day weekend, Feb. 11 – Feb. 14, 2022.
Carithers Flowers is a locally owned and family-operated business with a 12,500 square foot design center and showroom in Cobb County, just outside Atlanta.
