Make a Difference Day is on October 21st, and this is a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in helping those in your community.
It can be volunteering on a community project that helps others, such as building a house, cleaning up an area, or assisting those in need.
You can also participate in Make a Difference Day by donating to a charity or adding to a fundraising event.
In Atlanta this year, there are plenty of ways to get involved on Make a Difference Day.
There are book donation drives, 5k runs, community events and fundraisers where you can really feel like you are making a difference to those in need within your local area.
We also like to contribute to our local Atlanta communities by participating in numerous events.
Besides our own involvement, we also encourage our customers to do so as well through charity contributions that you can make just by making purchases through our online flower shop.
Known as Helping Hands, our unique online fundraising program helps numerous organizations throughout Cobb County, including churches, schools, and non-profit organizations. With each order you make through our website, you can include a $2 donation to any of our participating organizations that you can select as you complete your order.
Enrolled organizations include Find a Cure, WellStar Foundation & Hospice, United Way, Hope Lodge-Emery, American Cancer Society, High Meadows School & Camp, Good Mews Animal Foundation and Hightower Middle School.
If you are an organization, you may also want to think of joining our Helping Hands program.
All you need to do is distribute cards after we sign you up so people know they can contribute in this way. Orders are tracked and then the donations are sent directly to you at the beginning of every month. You are in control of the funds so you can decide how best to use the contributions to fulfill any goal you have for your organization.
