Behind-the-Scenes Photo Shoot for Our New Products

We’re excited to share a few of the behind-the-scenes pictures from a photo shoot we did for some new floral products and items we’ll be adding to our collections in the coming weeks. A lot of work and planning goes into creating these floral designs and products that suit our standard of quality and uniqueness. And, these latest items are no different.  Many of the new products reflect suggestions or requests from customers. Some floral designs reflect recent custom floral designs, which served as inspiration but that were not copied. Additionally, our floral designers travel and visit floral design conferences, learning about new trends and incorporating many influences they pick up along the way. And, while we have many favorites and best-sellers, everyone likes to see new products and floral designs that may fit with their gift giving, event planning, or decor.  Plus, a lot of work goes into planning how to showcase these special new products in our collection, including professional photographs that highlight the beauty, color, and uniqueness of each floral bouquet. Valentine’s Message From Charles Carithers

We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. For those of you who placed Valentine’s flower orders with us, thank you so much for your business and for the chance to be a part of your 2014 Valentine’s experience. The unprecedented winter storm that rolled through Atlanta brought our city and most business activity to a virtual halt. The storm left thousands without power and the devastating ice and snow it delivered prompted our Governor to declare a state of emergency that included the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Governor requested that all non-essential business traffic remain off the roads. Carithers Flowers made every effort to comply with his request. Media coverage of the impending storm began over the weekend leading up to Valentine’s week and peaked on Monday, just before the first blast of ice and snow reached our city. We heeded the warnings from local broadcast media and began pro-actively contacting customers who had previously placed orders for Tuesday and Wednesday delivery. We advised each customer of the storm related information we were receiving and suggested they allow us to move their delivery to either Monday, Thursday or Friday. The vast majority of those we contacted took us … Read More about Valentine’s Message From Charles Carithers »

Caring for Cut Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas are one of America’s favorite flower and aren’t just popular in the garden – they are frequently used in wedding bouquets and as centerpieces, and, when cared for properly can be have a long vase life as fresh-cut flowers. The hydrangea comes in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. (Did you know that you can actually change the color of a hydrangea bloom depending on the pH levels and presence of aluminum in the soil? Caring for cut hydrangeas is fairly simple as long as you remember that hydrangeas love water. To help your hydrangeas last in a vase, cut the stem every 2-3 days (under water is best). You may also try piercing a few tiny holes in the stem with a sewing needle – this will allow the flower to absorb water at a faster rate and keep the blooms hydrated. Carithers Flowers offers many elegant floral arrangements featuring the beautiful hydrangea. When shopping for your next hydrangea plant, consider Carithers Flowers Blooming Hydrangea.
